Retrieval Practice

WHY IS RETRIEVAL PRACTICE EFFECTIVE? Retrieval practice has consistently been proven to be the most effective revision strategy because it requires students to recall previously learnt knowledge, which creates stronger memory traces and increases the likelihood that the information will be transferred to the long-term memory.

Check out the quick question quizzes here- click on the picture, choose your subject and topic and get practicing.

Train your Brain

Complete daily activities for Science for 15 weeks.
Each day start by reviewing the previous 3 days questions. Can you do them from memory? Then try todays challenge. You may need to look up the answer, but not before you give it a go.

Then finish with a question that appeared on a previous weeks tasks... the further away the better.

Revision placemats
Complete all the questions without sneaky peaking in your book or revision guide. Put down what you think- don't leave anything blank. Remember what you think might be a guess, might just be a weak connection in the brain. Strengthen the connection by trying to complete it then use your revision guide to check your answers.
